south india's media troubles

It is with great sorrow in my heart that i am writing my first blog...

This is about all the english news channels and their bias towards the northern states. Hindi channels were and are biased. this is agreeable going by the fact that most of the hindi speaking people are concentrated towards the north.

the north biased English news channels who all those unwanted and unrelatted stuff but have got no time to report something which is actually a news......

August 1st a 2009: senior laeder.... infact the seniormost leader of the indian union muslim league(IUML) panakad shahib thangal expired..... he was the head of muslim league for around 35 years
someone who had the last say in the affairs related to the muslim league his real dedication lies in the fact that he was never thirsty of power. his never contesting even a single election is proof enough for it.

he was the backbone of the coalition politics of kerala, who was a major force behind the formation of UDF, one of the leading alliance in kerala, with the congress....

he was also a strong preacher of inter community relations, steering the IUML out without any problems after the babri masjid demolitions.....someone who dedicated all his life for the wellbeing of the people....

and on that day it was indeed disheartening to see that no news was shown... not even a ribbon.... announcing his death.... where on another side time was being spent to show the telivised natak of an item girl's wedding which is of no use to a normal being......

Trouble that broke out in osmania university, hyderabad took 3 days to become a national news.
elections in delhi university was hot news even weeks before the actual elections.

24 march 2010: tragedy struck kolkatta, as a fire broke out at stephan's court building, killing 24 people. on the same day an unfortunate bus accident at kottayam, killing 13 people wasn't given even a few minutes of AIRtime....

These are just a few incidents that's come to my notice... surely there are many nore such examples.

if the media has time to research upon a child who has fallen into a well and give live feeds of the rescue operations there,or the fight between two multi-billionaire brothers, i guess it only shows the casual attitude of the media.

i guess its high time that all those news channels estd. in the north take us southerners, who form a major part of their audience base seriously and report some worthy news.... als they need to pullup their socks and report something ehich is actual NEWS...
